Ben Zhao

Ben Zhao is the Neubauer Professor of Computer Science at University of Chicago. He is a Fellow of the ACM, and recipient of numerous awards, including the NSF CAREER award, MIT Technology Review's TR-35 Award (Young Innovators Under 35), ComputerWorld Magazine's Top 40 Tech Innovators award, Google Faculty award, IEEE ITC Early Career Award, and multiple influential and best paper awards. His work has been covered by media outlets such as Scientific American, New York Times, New Scientist, Boston Globe, LA Times, MIT Tech Review, Wall St Journal, Forbes, Fortune, CNBC, MSNBC, and media outlets worldwide. He has published more than 180 publications in areas of security and privacy, machine learning, networked systems, data-mining and HCI, with more than 34,000 citations. He has served as program co-chair and steering committee for multiple conferences and workshops. He completed his PhD in computer science at UC Berkeley in 2004 and his bachelor degree in computer science from Yale University in 1997.
